About Me

My name is Ashwini and I am a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) to 9 month old Jiya. Life has never been the same and I guess will never be again, after her birth. Its amazing how the littelest of things now revolve around her. She has a fairly happy personality(I think ‘personality’ is a very BIG word for someone who weighs less than 20 lbs and measures less than 30 in, but my pediatrician uses it all the time!) which I hope continues to be the case as she grows older. I will not be giving you any advise on parenting, honestly I do not know what to do with a crying baby and I am terrified of the future. We’ll just have to see how it goes.

In times of yore I was a Chemical Engineer (or at least I studied to be one) and used to work at a petrochemical plant. I cannot believe that I have climbed onto several hundred feet of scaffolding and stood on a ledge to peer inside a distillation column. You can compare the feeling to when you are standing on a ledge to bungee jump, the only difference is that you have to actually jump while bungee jumping. All this seems like a past life now. Much recently I was a consultant in the software industry until I was laid off a few months back. I was totally upset and bitter (I think I still am somewhat bitter) when it happened until I realized that it was not really me, but just the way things were at that time. These days I have come to think about the episode as a silver lining as it has given me more time with Jiya and countless ‘awww’ moments with her.

In my spare time, I dabble with oudoor stuff like running, hiking and nowadays running with Jiya in her stroller. I love to cook and my specialties these days are – mush vegetables and fruits, extra mushed grains and lentils and I can easily give Gerber a run for their money.

So, you might have realized that I can go on and on about me, myself, oh yes, did I mention that I also love photography and trditional arts like watercolor and oil and have been trying my hand at them. You might see some of my work on my blog.

Many go thro this but very few have that brave heart / courage (like yours) to face and put it forth.

Bungee jumping is one more exmple of your “brave heart / courage”……… Hats off.

It was like journey to go thro your bolg….. Mast lihile.

Job that you are doing for Jia is much more difficult than you were doing recently and more satifying. Good luck…..
